Common Ground

If you were to stop for a moment and ask yourself, "When I see a fellow DHS '71 classmate, what is it - really - that we have in common with each other....that is, other than the fact that we went to the same high school?".....what would your answer be?  I've pondered that question, and the more I thought about it, the more I realized how much we actually DO have in common.  In a sense, much of it comes down to time and space, i.e., we were all born in or around 1953 and we all lived out our 16-18 year old teenage years in Dearborn, Michigan.  The significance is that collectively we've shared many common experiences as a direct result of these two facts - experiences that give us a unique identity that is larger than any defining us as individuals.  Over the past few years I've received emails from many of you containing nostalgic content that we can all relate to.  Below is a collection of some of this nostalgia that hopefully will continue to remind us of what we really do have in common as members of the Dearborn High School Class of 1971 ..... and why that common ground is so very special.  Just click on the links below and enjoy a little stroll down memory lane (you may need Powerpoint or Word for some of these links).
