Teresa Overhauser (Alova) VIEW PROFILE

I was informed today (December 9, 2025) by our classmate, Pat Demerly (Jankowski) that classmate, Teresa Overhauser (Alova) passed away about 7 years ago, i.e, circa 2018.  According to Teresa's brother who lives in Indiana, she died of a brain aneurysm.  At some point after high school Teresa had moved to California and then possibly to Arizona.  Pat and Teresa were good friends as kids but have not been in contact for several years.  Teresa graduated from DHS in absentia with a 3.8+ GPA.

I remember Teresa so well.  Her Dad worked for GM, so she always had a car to drive that they were testing. We went everywhere....and I'll never forget the times we went to the East Town Theatre in Detroit to see Pink Floyd live for $5.  I'm not kidding!  This was during the '60s.

Teresa was a brilliant student and had a good heart and soul.  She loved to laugh at the absurdity of life. She was always curious and questioned everything. She had an amazing sense of humor, and I don't think I've known anyone since that I can laugh with that much.

She was a lover of ballet and music.  We took many ballet lessons together at the Detroit Community Music School.

As the oldest of eight children, her life wasn't easy. Her parents were always so busy.  I spent a lot of time over at her home because the home I came from was so broken.  Her home was very orderly, but she was alone much of the time.

Wherever you are, my old friend, I hope you are at peace.

You will be missed.
