Jim was born on May 13, 1953.  He died on June 20, 1996 at age 43.  He did not graduate with our DHS Class of 1971 as his dad was a VA Administrator and he moved between his Junior and Senior year at DHS to Texas.  He came to Adams Junior High in the 8th grade, played 9th grade football, basketball and track at Adams. At DHS, he wrestled in his sophmore and junior year. He enjoyed playing the guitar and could ride a unicycle.  Jim had two older brothers, John and Tom.   He attended undergraduate school in Texas (possibly Texas Tech University).  Due to his father's job Jim moved every three years as a child which never excited him.  He loved folk music...at least in high school.   Jim earned a Ph.D from Cornell University and became the Director of the Geoscience and Engineering  Center at SRI.
