Stan,

Thanks for the note regarding Dennis Stanford's passing. Truly so sorry to hear it . Dennis was an outstanding and crazy guy with a great sense of humor.

I remember one year, there was a road rally that started at Dearborn High and ended up at Camp Dearborn. If I remember correctly, it was our senior year. Well there were many paired up to do this road rally and Dennis decided he would do it using his small, low cc Harley Davidson. Well the day went by and many ended up checking in with the organizers at Camp Dearborn. They had checked in all those who signed up except for one, Dennis. Well just before the 6 p.m. deadline, Dennis walked through the Camp Dearborn gates with just the front wheel to his motorcycle. " I made it " he exclaimed. Seems he crashed his bike, unscathed somewhat, but finished. Wow! He later called someone to gather the parts and put the bike back together.Amazing!

A couple of years later, Dennis became a workmate as a lifeguard at Seashore Pools. Great worker, dependable workmate and most of all, funny guy with a wonderful sense of being.

He will be sorely missed. May he rest in peace!

Happy paddling, Dennis!
